I am deeply honored to serve as the 2nd president of ICLAS, following in the footsteps of the esteemed
Dr. Oh Wook. This appointment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our organization,
and I am committed to upholding the standards of excellence that ICLAS has set over the years.
ICLAS has continued to make significant strides, even in the face of the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2001, we proudly hosted our first-ever online conference, setting the stage for what was to come. This event garnered participation from over 3,000 healthcare professionals from around the world. It was a resounding success, highlighting our adaptability and commitment to advancing knowledge in the field.
As we look ahead, I am excited to announce our plans for the coming years. In May 2023, we successfully concluded another ICLAS conference in Bangkok, Thailand. More than 800 of our ICLAS members and colleagues gathered at our two day conference, showcasing the resilience and determination of our global community. In 2024, we have ambitious plans to host not one but two in-person conferences. The first will take place in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand, on 26 April, and the second in our home country of South Korea in 6 October. These events will mark a significant milestone for ICLAS, and we are dedicated to making them memorable and impactful than even before.
Our mission at ICLAS remains unwavering—to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in the field of medicine and healthcare. As the new chairman, I am committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, diversity, and mutual respect among our members. We will continue to facilitate meaningful connections and provide a platform for the exchange of cutting-edge research and ideas.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Oh Wook for his outstanding leadership during his tenure as president. His dedication and vision have set a strong foundation for our future endeavors.
I look forward to the exciting journey ahead and am eager to work hand in hand with all of you to realize our shared goals. Let us march forward, united in our commitment to advancing aesthetic medicine on a global scale.
